The NBA franchise continues its support for Jamaica
The Miami Heat will celebrate “Jamaica Night” next Tuesday, January 13, during their home game against the Phoenix Suns at the Kaseya Center, continuing the organisation’s efforts to support Jamaica’s recovery following Hurricane Melissa.
Dancehall superstar Sean Paul is set to deliver a special in-game performance, adding a strong cultural element to the evening’s activities.
The NBA franchise has already committed US$1 million to Jamaica’s hurricane relief efforts and has further contributed approximately 68 tons of emergency supplies, including food items and medical kits, to assist affected communities. Jamaican international guard Norman Powell has also lent his voice to the initiative, publicly expressing his support for the island.

Reacting to the Miami Heat’s relief efforts, Jamaica’s Consul General Oliver Mair, who has been actively championing hurricane recovery initiatives for the country, praised the organisation for demonstrating genuine corporate responsibility.
“The Miami Heat has long been an integral part of our community and has always reached out to the community whenever the need arises. This is truly big, and I congratulate the Miami Heat on this magnificent gesture,” said Mair.
