Billboard’s Monthly Fresh Picks for September feature the “New Gears” remix with Vybz Kartel’s touch, Sean Paul and Runkus’ soulful collaboration, along with new releases from T.O.K., Alaine’s radiant “Summertime,” and Major Lazer’s latest remix

L-R: Prince Swanny, Vybz Kartel, Skillibeng and Sean Paul
As the year approaches its end, Billboard’s Reggae/Dancehall Fresh Picks, as usual, highlights some of the best tracks released in September.
Skillibeng’s International EP gets a major boost with the Vybz Kartel-assisted version of “New Gears,” described by Billboard editors as “arguably the strongest musical showcase Worl’ Boss has delivered since coming home from prison last summer.” It follows “Too Hot” featuring Moliy, another track from the EP that was featured in Billboard’s August picks.
Also earning recognition is “Sure as the Sun,” a heartfelt reggae duet between artist-producer Runkus and dancehall icon Sean Paul, praised as the perfect track for those seeking feelings of solace and reassurance.
Chronic Law’s “Diamond in the Rough” also makes the list - a trap-dancehall fusion that channels the rhythm and emotion of groovy soca.
Trinidadian dancehall star Prince Swanny earns a spot with “Rifle,” which Billboard notes “arguably boasts the best riddim of the past month.”
Protoje’s newly released Feel It Riddim gets a spotlight through Alaine’s “Summertime,” a radiant celebration of love and warmth that captures the spirit of the season.
Legendary dancehall group T.O.K. makes a strong return with their latest release, “True Friends,” featured on Good Good Productions’ Pain Cure Riddim. The track earns praise for its heartfelt message about loyalty and staying true to the real ones.
Also featured on the list is Major Lazer’s EDM-infused “Gangsta” remix with Busy Signal and Kybba - now reimagined with rising British-Jamaican artist America Foster. Making her debut as the group’s newest member, Foster delivers a confident and seamless performance over the high-energy, dancehall-meets-EDM production.
