Dancehall artist Skillibeng has dropped a highly anticipated remix of his single “New Gears”, featuring dancehall icon Vybz Kartel. The track is part of his 11-track international EP.

Produced by Redboom Supamix, the remix comes after Kartel teased his verse weeks ago, sparking buzz across the dancehall scene. The Worl’ Boss delivers his trademark charisma and sensual lyrics aimed at the ladies, blending effortlessly with Skillibeng’s captivating flow. The single also opens with a creative sample from French singer Françoise Hardy’s 1965 classic “Mon amie la Rose”, giving the track a timeless edge.

Originally premiered in April with a music video directed by Shane Creative, “New Gears” has already racked up more than 8.7 million views on YouTube, as Skillibeng continues to keep his content game fresh.

The song is featured on Skillibeng’s international EP, released last month under EastSyde Records and RCA Records (Division of Sony Music Entertainment). The project also includes collaborations with Ty Dolla $ign and Major Lazer, the fiery “Too Hot” featuring Moliy, and other standout tracks like “Dada.”

This marks the third official collaboration between the E-Syde deejay and the Worl’ Boss. Their first link-up came in 2020 on “Bad Gyal” with Tommy Lee Sparta, featured on Kartel’s Dons & Divas album. They reunited in 2023 for “The King & The Prince”, produced by Kartel’s own Adidjahiem Records.

Although Kartel was still behind bars at the time, the visuals for The King & The Prince” were shot on location in his Waterford community in Portmore, further cementing Skillibeng’s connection to the dancehall icon’s roots.
