Iconic reggae anthem surpasses 600,000 units, becomes highest-certified solo female reggae track in Britain

Reggae singer Dawn Penn
Reggae singer Dawn Penn’s iconic track “You Don’t Love Me (No, No, No)” has been certified Platinum in the United Kingdom.
According to the British Phonographic Industry, the single surpassed 600,000 combined sales and streaming units as of April 3, based on data from the Official Charts Company.
The milestone makes it the highest-certified solo reggae song by a female artist in the UK, building on its previous Gold certification awarded on May 13, 2022.
The track, originally recorded in 1967 at Studio One under producer Coxsone Dodd, Dawn Penn revisited the track multiple times throughout her career. However, the globally successful version was produced by Steely & Clevie in the early 1990s, following a standout live performance at a Studio One anniversary show that reignited interest in the song.
That re-recorded version first appeared on the tribute album Steely & Clevie Play Studio One Vintage via Heartbeat Records, before being picked up in 1994 by Craig Kallman for his Big Beat Records imprint, where it went on to become an international hit.
The official music video has surpassed 87 million views to date, while the track has also accumulated over 200 million streams on Spotify.
