Fast-rising dancehall star Ayetian has earned a major spotlight from Billboard, which named him its Caribbean Up-and-Comer of the Month following the release of his 16-track Jampack Mixtape.

The feature traces his journey from growing up in a Haitian household in Montego Bay to becoming one of Jamaica’s most exciting new dancehall voices, while highlighting the key moments that have shaped his career so far.

Speaking about “Wah Yo Deh Pan,” his breakout collaboration with Govana, Ayetian explained why the dancehall star was the perfect fit. “I wanted to find the right person and the right vibe to go with. Govana is the streets guy and the females love him, so he made the most sense,” he said. “If I did it, then I expected it, you know? But I didn’t expect it to be so viral back-to-back, back-to-back, back-to-back.”

The song followed the momentum of “Balance,” before “Tip” pushed his career even further. The latter later received two major remixes, one featuring Skillibeng and another with Shenseea, helping to place Ayetian firmly in the spotlight.

Since first gaining attention through his freestyles, Ayetian has built a growing fanbase drawn to his authenticity and distinctive style. Looking ahead, he told Billboard that his ambitions extend far beyond the Caribbean.

“I don’t have a set limit, but the primary goal is Grammys and Billboard charts,” he said. “Anywhere the music takes me, I’ll go with it. Even though I’m Haitian and building my foundation in Jamaica, it’s all about the Caribbean.”
