Teejay Drifts Toward a Billion YouTube Views After Surpassing 900 Million

The Montego Bay native's biggest hits continue to rack up millions of views as his YouTube catalog surpasses 900 million total views

Dancehall star Teejay continues to rack up impressive numbers across streaming platforms, officially surpassing 900 million total views on his YouTube channel, further showcasing the longevity and global appeal of his catalog.
Leading his catalog is the 2020 hit "From Rags to Riches," which has amassed more than 98 million views on its official music video, while the audio has earned an additional 13 million, pushing the song beyond 110 million combined views. His 2018 single "Owna Lane" follows with more than 46 million combined views, while "People" has amassed over 43 million, and "Unfaithful Games" continues to resonate with more than 41 million views.
His biggest crossover hit to date, "Drift," which recently surpassed 100 million Spotify streams, has also accumulated more than 31 million views for the official music video and 8.5 million for the audio on YouTube. Other notable releases include "Power Struggle" featuring fellow Montego Bay deejay Tommy Lee Sparta (18 million), "Never Complain" with Masicka (17 million), and "Uptop Boss," which has also surpassed 17 million views.
While YouTube does not publicly disclose creator earnings, industry estimates suggest that a catalog with more than 900 million views could have generated anywhere between US$900,000 and US$2 million in gross advertising revenue over its lifetime, depending on factors such as audience location, watch time, ad rates, and overall monetization eligibility. Those estimates reflect revenue before it is shared among YouTube, rights holders, labels, distributors, publishers, managers, and other stakeholders, in accordance with contractual agreements, meaning the amount ultimately received by the artiste can vary significantly.
Teejay is currently working on his highly anticipated sophomore album, No Distraction, which is about 87% complete, according to the Flankers-born artiste.
With more than 1.4 million subscribers on YouTube and over a decade in the music industry, the Uptop Boss continues to prove the longevity of his catalog. His consistent stream of hits has cemented his reputation as one of dancehall's most enduring and successful artistes, with his music continuing to resonate with audiences worldwide.
