The Caribbean Elite Group expands the list of honorees for the 2025 Caribbean Music Awards, adding reggae icon Sizzla's Youth Foundation, Haitian Konpa legends Carimi, and gospel powerhouse Shirley Ann Cyril-Mayers to the lineup.
The Sizzla Youth Foundation, established by reggae legend Sizzla Kalonji, will be honored with the Humanitarian Award for its steadfast dedication to youth empowerment, education, and community upliftment through music and social programs. Their work exemplifies the transformative power of music, changing lives and inspiring future generations.
Konpa band Carimi, one of the most influential Haitian groups of the modern era, will be honored with the Legacy Award, while Shirley Ann Cyril-Mayers, dubbed as “St. Lucia's Queen of Gospel Music,” will receive the Gospel Honors.
These additions join previously announced recipients, including dancehall legend Bounty Killer, who will be honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award. Soca pioneer Super Blue and acclaimed producer Kerwin Du Bois will also be recognized for their lasting impact on Caribbean music and culture.
Meanwhile, Trace, which is one of the leading multimedia and digital platforms focused on Afro-Urban music and culture, will broadcast the awards showcase across the Caribbean, France, and African territories, with an official date to be announced.
Additionally, legendary New York radio station HOT 97 has increased its media partnership, offering exclusive red-carpet coverage, DJ mentions, and digital content across its platforms.
The awards ceremony returns for its third edition to Kings Theatre in Brooklyn on August 28, featuring over 200 nominees across 40 categories.
