Shenseea expands global reach with "Boss Up"

Jamaican hitmaker Shenseea drops her third solo single of 2025, “Boss Up,” on Friday, October 24, via Columbia Records/Since ’93, divisions of Sony Music Entertainment.

The single blends elements of R&B, pop, and hip-hop, while Shenseea infuses her signature Jamaican flavor and lyrical style, as she once again showcasing her intention to create crossover hits aimed at the international market.

Her growth in that field is reflected in the song’s production credits, which include four-time Grammy-nominated producer and music director Alex Goldblatt (Kehlani, 6lack, Roddy Ricch) and producer-songwriter Khris Riddick-Tynes, whose credits include Ariana Grande’s 2020 single “Safety Net” featuring Ty Dolla $ign (over 234 million Spotify streams), Kehlani’s “Folded” (over 177 million Spotify streams), and SZA’s “Snooze,” which has amassed more than 1.7 billion streams on Spotify to date.

Shenseea also worked with Belizean multi-genre artist Kaylan Arnold, who appears among the credited writers. Arnold, known for her vocals on DJ Khaled’s all-star dancehall collaboration “You Remind Me” featuring Vybz Kartel, Mavado, Buju Banton, and Bounty Killer, adds her unique touch to the record.

Shenseea has proven time and again that she’s much more than just dancehall, confidently stepping into the global pop scene while maintaining her unmistakable Jamaican edge.

The single’s accompanying music video, filmed in London, follows her recent releases: “Puni Police” (produced by Di Genius), “V.I.P” (by DJ Mac), and “Self Love,” featured on Rvssian’s Story Book Riddim.

Beyond her solo work, Shenseea continues to make waves internationally with collabs, including the Billboard Hot 100 re-entry of Moliy’s “Shake It To The Max” featuring Skillibeng, to her feature on "Tip’s" remix alongside fast-rising artist Ayetian. She also scored a major global collaboration on Mariah Carey’s “Sugar Sweet” with Kehlani, which has already surpassed over 8 million Spotify streams.
