Representing the west side of Jamaica and coming out of Savanna-la-Mar isn’t always easy, but fast-rising dancehall artiste Rymey Gad is proving that talent and consistency can break barriers.

Currently emerging as one of Westmoreland’s hottest new acts, the deejay continues to build momentum following a string of trending releases on YouTube in recent months.

Now, Rymey Gad teams up with dancehall artiste PalmDon, an Atlanta-based talent who also hails from Westmoreland, for their new collaboration “Backseat,” a gritty, high-energy track packed with attitude, street energy, and sharp lyrics.

Produced by SavMan Records and 9Mill, the release further showcases the growing wave of talent coming out of western Jamaica while highlighting the chemistry between both artistes.

Speaking on the release, SavMan emphasized the importance of representing the west side on a larger scale. “Westmoreland has always had talent, but sometimes the spotlight nuh really reach we like Kingston. Projects like this are important because we’re showing that the west side has artistes with real potential, real stories, and real energy,” he shared.
