Two of Jamaica’s most influential modern reggae and dancehall voices, Romain Virgo and T.O.K., will be honored at the 2025 Grammy Certificate Ceremony, slated for Saturday, September 13, 2025, at the Audi Showroom in Kingston, Jamaica, with a global livestream.
The recognition celebrates both acts’ contributions to the Grammy-nominated album The Reggae Power (2014), produced by Sly & Robbie and Spicy Chocolate. The project showcased a vibrant fusion of reggae and dancehall artistry for international audiences. T.O.K. also earned a Grammy nomination for their feature on Red Star Sounds Presents: Def Jamaica (2005).
Reggae star Romain Virgo has been instrumental in blending classic reggae soulfulness with modern storytelling over the years. “We are very proud to have been a part of Romain’s journey from Rising Stars and Vikings Productions via VP to the present day. Rarely does a day go by that we are not basking for some reason in the mature, world-renowned artist that Romain has become. This is but one small way that we can help highlight Romain Virgo as he steps into his greatness,” shared Kennedy Mensah, CEO of Back 2 Da Future Music Ltd. “Honouring artists like Romain Virgo and T.O.K. reflects how Jamaica’s sound continues to evolve while staying rooted in tradition. Next stop is to watch him get the trophy for one of his own albums.”

Established dancehall-reggae group T.O.K. built their global reputation from the late 1990s to the mid-2000s with several crossover hits. “Over the years, our journey has always been about representing dancehall and reggae on the world stage,” said Bay-C of the renowned group. “To be recognised alongside so many of Jamaica’s greatest musicians is a full-circle moment. This honour is not just for us, it’s for the fans, producers, and musicians who’ve been part of our story from day one.”
By honouring Romain Virgo and T.O.K., the Grammy Certificate Ceremony reinforces its commitment to highlighting Jamaica’s rich talent, spanning seasoned veterans to contemporary hitmakers, whose roles in Grammy-winning and Grammy-nominated projects often remain under the radar.

This year’s event marks the second staging of the Grammy Certificate Ceremony, coinciding with the 40th anniversary of the Reggae Grammy category and the 40-year legacy of Steely & Clevie’s production career. The Ministry of Culture, Gender, Entertainment & Sport has officially endorsed the event, with partners including ATL Automotive Jamaica, Tastee Jamaica Limited, Frsh Creative, and Clear Sound Productions.
The event is powered by Back 2 Da Future Music Ltd. in collaboration with The Royalty Network Inc. and Steely & Clevie Productions.
