After a four-year hiatus that left fans anticipating her next move, multifaceted recording artist Press Kay returns with new single “The Spot,” a smooth, emotionally charged offering crafted for lovers, featured on the Happy Wife Riddim by Scikron Entertainment Group/Big Yard Music.

Known for her versatility and ability to move across musical lanes, Press Kay has never boxed herself in. From high-energy dancehall tracks like “Come for the Knockas” feat Charly Black, “Good Gyal” with Chronic Law, to introspective moments like “Destiny” (distributed by Ghetto Youths International), her artistry reflects a dynamic creative spirit. However, with “The Spot,” she leans fully into vulnerability, intimacy, and connection, delivering a track that feels both personal and relatable.

“The Spot” was produced by platinum-selling hitmaker Robert Livingston, carrying a polished yet soulful sound that complements Press Kay’s style.

The chemistry between artist and producer is evident, with Livingston’s layered instrumentation providing the perfect backdrop for her melodic delivery. More than just a song, “The Spot” is an experience built on love and emotional connection. She shared that when she first heard Chris Martin’s song, she was drawn to its storytelling. The process came together organically - during a studio meeting, the beat played, she pitched a hook, and Livingston encouraged her to record immediately. After playback, he even sang along to “meet me by the spot,” noting its catchy appeal.

Press Kay added, “Mi feel honored to finally be working with Robert. He has managed legends like Super Cat and Shaggy and has a work ethic that is second to none.” She revealed they had discussed collaborating for two years before it finally came together. With “The Spot,” Press Kay invites listeners into a space where passion meets authenticity, reminding fans why her voice has been missed.

Press Kay recalled that the process unfolded organically, she had gone to the studio for a meeting when the beat started playing, and she told Robert she had come up with a hook. After hearing it, Robert loved it and urged her to record it right away. She added that once they recorded and played it back, Robert started singing the hook, “meet me by the spot, spot, spot,” and remarked that it was catchy and that people were going to love it. !

While both had been discussing working together over the past two years, bringing Robert Livingston on board for her upcoming EP ultimately came together organically. Her return with “The Spot” signals more than new music - it reflects a period of growth during her time away from the spotlight. “I’ve been working behind the scenes and I’m really excited to step back into the space. I missed releasing music and connecting with fans,” she shared.

She also looks forward to returning to the stage, with plans to perform across Europe, Africa, and the U.S. Now, Press Kay re-emerges as a more evolved storyteller, proving that great artistry isn’t rushed - it’s cultivated, and her return makes it clear the wait was well worth it.
