Jamaican dancehall artiste Kranium is earning renewed international attention with his latest single “Girl Trip,” featured on Di Genius’ popular Hill & Gully Riddim.

The track was recently added to the BBC 1Xtra A-List playlist and named Song of the Week by broadcaster Nadia Jae.

Built around a storyline many listeners will instantly recognize, “Girl Trip” explores modern relationships and dating culture, humorously touching on themes of trust, temptation, and the unexpected situations that can arise when perception and reality collide.

The release follows Kranium’s April EP A Slight Delay, which showcased a more introspective side of the singer. Led by the reflective single “Daily Bread,” the project explored themes of ambition, perseverance, faith, and the realities of success. Together, the two releases highlight Kranium’s ability to balance personal reflection with relatable storytelling.

“One of the things people have always connected with in my music is that it feels real,” says Kranium. “Sometimes you’re focused on providing, building, and staying motivated, and other times you’re dealing with relationships and everything that comes with them. That’s life. I try to create music that reflects all sides of it.”

As dancehall continues to expand its global influence, Kranium is preparing for a busy summer schedule. He is set to perform at the St. Kitts Music Festival on June 26 and at Reggae Land in the UK on August 1, with additional dates planned across Europe, including Latvia, Finland, the Netherlands, Sweden, and Germany, before returning to the UK in September. More shows are also expected to be announced in New Zealand, Australia, and Uganda
