Jamaican national basketball team star Norman Powell has earned his first-ever NBA All-Star selection, being named an Eastern Conference reserve for the NBA All-Star Game.
Powell will represent the Miami Heat at the 2026 NBA All-Star Game, set for February 15 at the Intuit Dome in the Los Angeles area, marking his first All-Star appearance in his 11th NBA season.
The final selection was made by Eastern Conference head coaches, who voted on the reserve spots after more than a decade of steady production from Powell across the league.
Joining Powell among the Eastern Conference All-Star reserves are Cleveland’s Donovan Mitchell, Atlanta’s Jalen Johnson, New York’s Karl-Anthony Towns, Indiana’s Pascal Siakam, Toronto’s Scottie Barnes, and Detroit’s Jalen Duren.
Acquired by Miami in a three-team trade this offseason that sent Kevin Love and Kyle Anderson elsewhere, Powell has delivered a career-best campaign. Entering Sunday night’s matchup against Chicago at Kaseya Center, he was averaging a personal-high 23 points per game, shooting 47.2% from the field and 39.2% from three-point range in his first season with the Heat.
