Fada Shella, "Thriving in the Hustle"
Building his reputation as the manager of the dynamic duo, renowned producer DJ Mac and creative talent World Baba, Shelldon Welsh, better known as Fada Shella, has recently joined Jaii Frais on the popular podcast 'Let's Be Honest.' In an exclusive interview with Kaboom Magazine, Fada Shella delves into his multifaceted roles as a manager and entrepreneur.
"Mac and Baba are like my brothers, and working with them continues to be an incredible journey," he said, emphasizing the close-knit bond between them. "DJ Mac is always evolving, keeping me on my toes, while Baba's working on incredible visual art."
Managing two talents as driven as Mac and Baba is no easy task, but Welsh concluded with a sentiment that keeps him motivated. "When you’re passionate about the people you work with, it never feels like work."
Recently started to serve as the co-host alongside Jaii Frais on the popular Jamaican podcast 'Let's Be Honest', reflecting on the new role he shared. "Partnering with Jaii Frais has been a game-changer. When he approached me with the idea, I knew it was special", he resonated. "The raw, unfiltered conversations resonate with so many people, and being part of that energy is electrifying. As the new co-host, I bring my own flavor—deep insights mixed with humor, while always keeping it real. It's about more than just entertainment; it's about sparking meaningful conversations, and I’m honored to be part of it."
Keep balancing is the key to his success. "Managing, hosting, and partnering in different ventures can be challenging, but I thrive in the hustle," he shared. "Organization is key. My calendar is my best friend, and communication with Mac, Baba, and Jaii Frais is crucial. We have regular check-ins to align on goals and tackle challenges."
"Staying organized is non-negotiable, but what really keeps me going is staying inspired. I’m constantly seeking out new experiences, learning from the people around me, and challenging myself to grow. Whether it’s through reading, traveling, or simply having deep conversations with creative minds, I make it a point to keep the fire burning".
Mac, Baba and Fada Shella," I’ve built a solid team that I trust"
Fada Shella emphasized the importance of his loyal crew, a significant part of his success. "Another thing that keeps me grounded is knowing when to delegate. I’ve built a solid team that I trust, and that allows me to focus on the bigger picture while they handle the day-to-day tasks. It’s all about working smarter, not harder".
While the future looks bright for Fada Shella, he's exploring new ways to expand. "I’ve got some exciting plans in the works. We’re exploring collaborative projects that blend music, art, and conversation in a way that hasn’t been done before. There’s also talk of expanding 'Let's Be Honest' into different formats—think live events, maybe even a docu-series," he revealed.
Fresh off a successful fgig in Barbados with DJ Mac and Baba, the team is already eager to get back on the road, with plans to hit several cities across the Caribbean and North America.
"In short, life’s been a whirlwind, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. From managing Mac and Baba’s careers to co-hosting 'Let's Be Honest,' I’m fully in my element. And trust me, there’s a lot more in store. So, keep your eyes peeled—you won’t want to miss what’s coming next," Sheldon concluded. "Thanks for all the love and support. Let’s keep this journey going strong."
