Jamaican dancehall artiste Chronic Law has been released from the custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) after spending over two and a half months detained.

The “Revenge” deejay shared a photo on his Instagram with the caption “God Bless,” offering no further details, but the post quickly drew reactions from industry figures and fans welcoming his release. Sources close to the situation have since confirmed that he is no longer in ICE custody.

The artiste, whose real name is Ackeme Campbell, had been held at a Florida detention facility, reportedly referred to by some as “Alligator Alcatraz” following his initial detention on January 12. Information from his camp remained limited throughout that period.

Public records previously indicated that Chronic Law was arrested in Turner County, Georgia, in November 2025 on multiple traffic-related charges.

During his time in custody, several artistes publicly showed support for the deejay, including fellow St. Thomas native Popcaan, as well as Vybz Kartel and Kranium.

Despite the situation, Chronic Law remains one of Jamaica’s most dominant digital acts. He was the most-viewed artiste on YouTube in Jamaica last year, amassing over 150 million views in 2025, and continues to generate millions of streams annually.
