After Chronic Law’s viral smash, hitmaker-machine producer CJtheChemist is curating one of the season’s most seductive and street-smart riddims. In an exclusive interview, he dives into the recording process, shares his strategy, and reveals: “We’re taking this global; few surprises loading.”

CJtheChemist builds a summer momentum with Viral ‘NY Girls’ Riddim
Following the immense success of Chronic Law’s “NY Girls,” dancehall hitmaker and producer CJtheChemist is officially turning the viral single into a full-fledged mega juggling project with the release of Valiant’s “All Ova,” Armanii with “Link Up,” Ajji’s “Skin to Skin,” and the most recent drop, Najeeriii’s “Finances.”
“NY Girls” has already racked up over 6.1 million views on YouTube and is quickly becoming a certified dancehall party anthem. Now, with a string of new releases under his belt, CJtheChemist’s riddim feels like the spark behind a full summer takeover.
Wrapped in seductive, confident energy while still keeping the streets nodding, the "NY Girls" riddim was built with purpose. “I wanted something that would make women feel confident. It’s summer energy—vibes for the beach, block party, and in the dance. I build beats to move people, and this one was all about getting the girls active,” CJtheChemist explained.
Unsurprised by the runaway success of Chronic Law’s entry, the U.S.-based, Spanish Town-born producer shared, “Honestly, I knew we had something special when we laid it down. Chronic Law always brings raw energy and authenticity, and when he touched this beat, it just felt like magic. But the way it took off, especially with the ladies and on TikTok, was beyond what I expected. That reaction showed me how powerful the connection was.”
With Valiant’s “All Ova” surpassing 1 million views in just two weeks, and Armanii’s “Link Up” already racking up over 1.2 million views, CJtheChemist is once again celebrating another major success in his ever-growing catalogue.
“Mi curating vibes, not just songs. Valiant understands how to flirt through his lyrics and still keep it clever, and that’s what the riddim needed—balance between fun and lyrical heat. Every artist I place on a beat brings a different flavor for the ladies to connect with,” he added.
Operating under the production name CJtheChemist, he brings real chemistry to every studio session with his artists. “We always build together. Sometimes I’ll say, ‘Talk to the girls on this one,’ or ‘Paint a picture.’ I believe in letting artists be themselves, but I also guide the energy. I’m not just making beats, I’m setting the stage. I know what the streets and the queens want to hear,” he elaborated.
While the infectious summer riddim continues to gain traction, CJtheChemist is already looking ahead. "I have a few surprises loading. We’re taking this global—New York to Jamaica to the UK. More artists are coming on board, including some strong female voices. The goal is to build a riddim that represents different perspectives but still holds that same bounce and vibe," he resonated.
From viral projects like the 1 Matik Riddim to standout contributions on Govana’s Legacy album, which now boasts over 60 million Spotify streams, CJtheChemist’s success formula consistently turns his creative mastermind into impressive numbers. “It’s love and strategy. I study sound, I watch the culture, and I stay tapped in with what people are feeling. But most of all, I stay real. I’m not trying to copy trends. I’m creating moments. Every record I touch has to speak, and I think that’s what makes it stick,” he concluded.
