Messages of peace, love, unity, and celebration filled the Sea Lots community last Friday night as rising soca artist Yung Bredda marked his 26th birthday with a free hometown concert.


The seaside village, located on the outskirts of Port of Spain, came alive with vibrant performances from a stellar lineup of top reggae, soca, and dancehall acts. Each artist paid tribute to Yung Bredda, delivering energetic sets that captivated the large crowd and turned the night into a true celebration of community and culture.


Soca artists Mical Teja, Lady Lava, Zebullun, Flawless, and Ziggy Ranking were among the many who graced the stage, delivering high-energy sets that kept the crowd moving well into the night. DJ Hotty added a heartfelt touch to the celebrations, surprising Yung Bredda with a birthday gift live on stage, while his manager, Jesse “Optimus” John, looked on proudly from the crowd.

The live action kicked off just before midnight and carried on into the early morning hours, with host Kerron “Sunny Bling” Sealy skillfully balancing humor and heartfelt moments to keep the positive vibes flowing. For Lewis, the night was more than a celebration—it was a moment of deep reflection and gratitude.


“I give thanks to all the people who came out including my friends, my supporters, all the reggae artistes whose music I grew up listening to and being inspired by,” he shared. “All the artistes who showed love, I want to give special thanks to Lady Lava and Mical Teja—allyuh don’t even know how much it means, not just to me, but to the community. For allyuh to come here and bless up the place, that’s something we’ll all remember.”


By the night’s end, Yung Bredda was overflowing with joy and gratitude. “My goodness, it was blessed. All who missed it, well allyuh really missed an amazing night,” he shared with a wide smile. “I feel like I’m now ready for the next phase - the next season and the next year of growth, opportunities, and progress.”



He also took a moment to express heartfelt thanks to his team, whose support has been instrumental in his journey. “I will always love, cherish, and thank you for believing in me and my talent. Look how far we’ve come—and imagine, there’s still so much further to go!”


Armed with his crossover, chart-topping hit “The Greatest Bend Over,” which has amassed over 25 million views across all versions on YouTube—including remixes featuring Jamaican dancehall icon Sean Paul and Ghanaian stars Chlöe and Moliy - the artist, whose given name is Akhenaton Lewis continues to evolve while inspiring Trinidad’s youth to chase their dreams and remain positive despite life’s challenges.
