Dancehall heavyweight Vybz Kartel treated fans to a midnight surprise with the release of his brand-new 11-track EP Heart and Soul. Mostly voiced during marathon studio sessions with longtime collaborator Redboom, the project spotlights Kartel’s lyrical brilliance and tireless work ethic.

The EP opens with the heartfelt ballad "They're Outta Love, We Aren't", a romantic dedication to his fiancée Sidem. On the track, Kartel lays bare his emotions, confessing his deepest feelings to his soon-to-be wife.

Among the standout moments is the viral hit "I Know", which exploded on TikTok thanks to a popular dance challenge. Kartel doubles down with "You Know Goat", a reflective follow-up that showcases his lyrical sharpness while unpacking the milestones he’s achieved since incarceration. With its infectious bounce and motivational flair, the track could easily spark another trending dance routine.

Kartel also gives a clever shout-out to Popcaan, seamlessly weaving his own experiences of relocating to Miami into a bouncy and catchy beat. He references his appearance on Entertainment Report with Anthony Miller and even nods to Sidem with the recurring phrase “Kiss Me Baby”, adding a playful twist that fans are already echoing.

Throughout the EP, nostalgic echoes of past hits resurface in the production, especially for longtime fans. Tracks like "In Too Deep", produced by his manager and hitmaker TJ Records, capture that signature Kartel charm tailored to his loyal female audience. Meanwhile, songs like "Can’t Leave You Alone", "Ghetto Girl Chosen", and "Cinderella Ballroom" invite listeners to reminisce on the emotional depth of classics like "Colouring This Life", blending vulnerability with melody in a way only Kartel can deliver.

With the title track "Heart and Soul," Kartel reaffirms his status as a towering figure in dancehall, romantic, magnetic, reflective, and forever ahead of the curve.
