R&B superstar Chris Brown has responded after music publication Pitchfork published a harsh review of his latest album, Brown, sparking widespread debate across social media and among fans of the singer.

The review, published shortly after the album’s release on May 8, scored the project a 1.3 out of 10 and described it as “a piece of sh*t.” The rating quickly drew backlash from supporters, many of whom argued that the publication’s language crossed the line from criticism into disrespect.

Breezy appeared unfazed by the controversy, however, addressing the criticism during an Instagram post shared Tuesday evening. “I don’t give a f**k what these n*s is talking about; I know exactly who my fans are and I know exactly who’s hearing this album. If you’re not my fan, I don’t want you to listen to my sht. Go listen to motherfking Zara Larsson or something,” he said.

Among those publicly backing the R&B star was dancehall giant Vybz Kartel, who featured on the album’s track “F*** N Party.” Kartel shared a series of supportive posts on his Instagram Story, referring to Brown as “Immortal Brown.”

Despite the mixed critical reception, the album has continued to perform strongly commercially. Brown previously reached the #1 spot on the iTunes Top Albums chart and currently sits at #4 in the same chart. Additionally, 13 songs from the project have appeared on the U.S. iTunes Top 100 R&B Songs chart, with the Chris Brown and Vybz Kartel collaboration currently sitting at #46.
