Amid the recent debate over who holds the title of “King of Dancehall,” reignited by comments from Shaggy, dancehall superstar Vybz Kartel has reached another social media milestone, becoming the third living Jamaican artiste to surpass 4 million followers on Instagram and the first male artiste to achieve the feat.

The Worl’ Boss joins dancehall queens Shenseea and Spice, who lead the way among living Jamaican artistes with 9.6 million and 4.8 million followers, respectively.

Among male Jamaican artistes, Popcaan is Kartel’s closest competitor with 3.3 million followers, followed by Sean Paul with 2.7 million and Shaggy with 2.3 million.

Meanwhile, the late reggae legend Bob Marley remains the most-followed Jamaican music figure on Instagram, with 10.1 million followers.

While the debate over dancehall's crown continues, Kartel's latest milestone further highlights his massive influence and popularity beyond the music.
