U.S.-based Vincian dancehall artiste DaDon is showing another side of his artistry with “Black Rain,” track seven from his eight-track EP, Chosen.

Featuring Bucky Ital, “Black Rain” was recorded specifically for the project, with DaDon intentionally taking the record in a darker direction while showcasing his versatility.

“The mood was intentional because I’m pushing to be more of a catalogue artiste. I also wanted listeners to hear my versatility with Bucky Ital,” DaDon said.

According to the artiste, the early response has been encouraging, particularly as fans continue to connect with the darker side of his sound.

Chosen carries an overall message of perseverance and never giving up. The eight-track project also includes its title track, “Chosen,” which has received a remix featuring Jamaican artiste Yaksta.

The EP is currently going through the distribution process with 21st Hapilos and is expected to become available across streaming platforms soon.

For DaDon, the project is ultimately about leaving listeners with something meaningful. “I want them to know that I will always give my best work - music that can uplift, give them hope and also entertain my people.”
