After soaking up the energy, style and unmistakable atmosphere of Miami’s South Beach during Memorial Day weekend, the promoters of Pool Cooler Fete (PCF) returned to Jamaica inspired to bring a taste of the experience home.
For promoters Curtis Hyatt, Sean Davis and Lorenzo Thomas, the South Beach concept is a fitting way to celebrate a decade of PCF.
“When we started PCF, most people were going to clubs and dances, and we wanted to offer something outside of that usual setting,” Hyatt said. “We live in a tropical country, so why not make use of the outdoors? Ten years later, we were in Miami for Memorial Weekend, experiencing South Beach, and the thought came to us again: why not bring some of that experience home? This anniversary is about giving Jamaica South Beach, but with a Jamaican twist.”
Since debuting at the Olympia Crown Hotel in 2016, PCF has grown into a twice-yearly fixture, known for its poolside atmosphere, fashion, music, celebrity appearances and expanding food offerings.
For its 10th anniversary, PCF: South Beach will draw inspiration from Miami’s style and lifestyle while maintaining its Jamaican identity, with the signature pool-party and cooler-fête experience alongside a new food-inclusive VIP option.
The event will also kick-start the four-event Greatness Weekend series, followed by RECALL: Straight Jeans & Fitted on Saturday, October 17; CUPS: Château Blanc on Sunday, October 18; and the Greatness Pink & White Brunch on Heroes Day, Monday, October 19.
