The track and field season is heating up, with several Jamaican athletes delivering standout performances at Friday’s Doha Diamond League meet.
Jamaica's rising sprint star Tia Clayton clocked a world-leading 10.92 seconds to win the women’s 100m, edging out her twin sister Tina Clayton, who finished second in 11.02s. Great Britain’s Amy Hunt secured third with 11.03s.
But it was the return of 38-year-old sprint icon Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce that made the biggest headlines. Competing in her first Diamond League race in three years, the multiple-time world champion finished fourth in 11.05s.
In the men’s 110m hurdles, Jamaican Rasheed Broadbell powered to a season’s best of 13.14s (+1.1), claiming victory ahead of American Jamal Britt (13.25s) and Spain’s Enrique Llopis (13.27s).
