Masicka Declares His Aim for Longevity on Third Album Forever Reign

The dancehall superstar prepares for one of the biggest weekends of his career with his 17-track third studio album, which marks his third in five years, featuring collaborations with Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley, Kraff, Lila Iké and Blaqbonez

Dancehall superstar Masicka is heading into one of the biggest weekends of his career, with the long-awaited release of his third studio album, Forever Reign, followed just one day later by his debut headlining performance at Brooklyn’s iconic Barclays Center.
The Portmore-born deejay has spent years building his status in a genre where competition is fierce and staying relevant can be just as challenging as breaking through. Forever Reign marks his third album in five years, following his acclaimed independent debut 438 in 2021 and his major-label sophomore effort Generation of Kings in 2023. This time around, the title itself feels like a declaration from an artiste who has fought his way to the forefront of dancehall and intends to remain there.
For Masicka, Forever Reign is a self-declaration of his staying power and the place he has carved out for himself in dancehall. “Forever Reign means I’m here to stay. Yes, there’s room for everyone, but my lane is carved out, and we’re going to soak up the space,” Masicka said. “The most important thing is to stay humble and focused.”
Across its 17 tracks, Masicka explores faith, ambition, survival, success and loyalty, while also pulling back the curtain on the sacrifices and personal experiences behind his journey to the top. The long-in-the-making album, first reported on by Kaboom Magazine last year, arrives after a slightly extended wait, during which Masicka released Her Name Is Love, an emotional project centered around women and relationships.
Forever Reign opens on a spiritual note with “1 Psalm,” featuring Grammy-winning reggae star Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley, which Masicka first previewed during an Apple Music interview ahead of the album’s release. From there, the project unfolds across the different sides of his artistry. Speaking on the meaning behind the song, he explained, “One prayer a day, if we can pray and ask God to forgive us for our sins and protect us, then we’re good.”
“Spend” captures the confidence and bravado of an artiste enjoying the rewards of years of hard work, while the tracklist also features previously released hits “Boasty,” one of dancehall’s biggest songs of 2026, and “Slip N Slide.” The latter, featured on Di Genius’ Hills and Gully Riddim, has already surpassed 10 million views on YouTube in just three months.
The collaborations also bring variety to the project. “Honor Roll” marks Masicka’s first-ever collaboration with Kraff, pairing two artistes known for their melodic abilities on one of the album’s more intriguing link-ups. “His style is different, and he reminds me of myself when I was coming up and hungry,” Masicka said of Kraff. “All of the young youths are bad, and I respect anybody brave enough to embark on this journey. I never had any doubt he was going to shell down this record.”
Masicka also reunites with reggae star Lila Iké on “Parables,” the album’s closing track, continuing a chemistry previously heard on “Triumph” alongside Chronic Law, which appeared on his Generation of Kings album, and later on “Romantic” from Iké’s own project. Nigerian rapper Blaqbonez adds another international dimension with his appearance on “G Wagon.”
Elsewhere, Forever Reign moves between introspection and intensity. Records including “Oak Tree,” “Pointless,” “Shakazulu,” “Good,” “Cross the Waters,” “It’s Not Too Late,” “AK Fire,” “Time and Palace” and “Breaking Chains” place the focus firmly on Masicka’s lyrical strength, giving him room to balance introspection with the sharp writing, confidence and storytelling that have remained central to his appeal.

Production throughout the album features contributions from several acclaimed producers, including longtime collaborator Mario “Dunw3ll” Dunwell, Dre Skull, Stephen “Di Genius” McGregor, Supa Dups, Atto Wallace, IzyBeats, Dready, Telz and Razzy, among others.
Just one day after Forever Reign arrives, Masicka will take another major step in his career when he headlines Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Saturday, August 15, under CJ Milan’s Reggae Fest Tour banner.
Backed by his lyrical ability and the international push of Def Jam Recordings, Masicka’s rise has increasingly extended beyond Jamaica through major stages and overseas performances. With three albums in five years and another arena-sized moment ahead, Forever Reign represents more than another release - it is Masicka continuing to build longevity, project by project.
