In the last two years, the global music business has been turned upside down but Jamaica is a place that always produces stars.


These certain names have already introduced their talent, and the global pandemic just slow down the process but in 2022 they took it to the next level. so who has shown the most progress during the past year?


Jahshii The Grants Pen origin, Jahshii built up his name with hits such as 'Cream Of The Crop' and '258', and is known mostly by the common slang, "Nawmal", so he step into this year as one of the top names in the game.

Tunes like 'Born Fighter' which has already racked up to 22 million views on YouTube, 'Stronger' 'Born Soldier', 'Prosperity' and 'Dream' are getting into his musical catalog, and despite a beef with his former friend turn rival, Skeng, and Silk Boss, he is strengthening his status in the industry.


Chronic Law The gifted songwriter from St. Thomas started the journey before the global Covid-19 pandemic, but it is kind of slowed down. and since his big breakthrough with songs like 'Hillside', 'Hilltop Badness' and 'Government' which were released in more than 3 years, He almost didn't get to perform.



but over the past two years, his talent has exploded. 'law Boss' expanded his catalog of songs that are updated often on a weekly basis.


"Legend", "Empty", "Walk With Faith" and more have received millions of views on social platforms and he started to receive bookings in the yard and abroad.


Shane O He's the oldest one in this bunch of artists, an excellent songwriter who returned to the headlines with one of the best songs that he has ever written, 'Dark Room'.

Shane O even won international attention with the help of DJ Khaled, but unlike in the past, when he didn't ride the success of 'Last Days' and 'A Milion', he will have to maximize the waves of his current success and stay consistent.



Intence Tashawn Gabbidon, more popularly known as Intence gets his first big success with his hit single 'Go Hard' which was released in 2019. the Kingston native young star enjoys his status in mainstream Dancehall. this year Intence earned another performance at the prestigious Reggae Sumfest and released multiple singles such as 'Makanaki', 'New Gear', 'Drama' and 'Airport' featuring his childhood friend, IWaata. The 'Yeng' boss continued his musical growth.

Yaksta Last year, Yaksta gets attention with his big hit 'Ambition', and since then marked as a rising power in the music business. He is a unique artiste, who abandoned his job as a farmer and continued his journey with songs like 'Mirror', 'Money Talk' and 'Ready' the last one that should be a part of his upcoming debut album.


Nation Boss The origin Nation who broke into the headlines with a brilliant freestyle became a single called 'Humans' and continued to shine with the typical kind of melodies. Songs like 'Calm & Steady', 'Pray For Me' & 'Deja Vu' was added to his resume, he had a performance at Reggae Sumfest but his main focus toward to his debut EP, 'Inkosi', which was released last October. Laa Lee Ranks Laa Lee has been here for several years, but the big explosion came precisely during the pandemic with the 'Tip Inna Hit'. while he brings some happy songs with a different flavor to the common dark dancehall of the new era and is therefore in a position to upgrade all the time. The 'Bird' deejay made an impressive reggae Sumfest performance and got US and Caribbean bookings on regular basis. With songs like 'Bong Bing' and 'Floating' gaining millions of views on social platforms and an increasing fan base, he has certainly had an active year.

450 Tristen Escoffery better known as 450, continued to build his name in the business. The young artist who made his first impression last year with hits like 'Journey' and 'Imperfection', added 'Gyal Thief', 'Thunda' (Featuring Deno Crazy) to his building catalog which became a favorite by the ladies.
