Squash released from U.S. prison

Jamaican Dancehall artiste Squash has officially been released from U.S. federal prison and transferred into the custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), following several reductions to his projected release date.

The entertainer, whose given name is Andrae Maurice Whittaker, was released from FCI Oakdale II in Louisiana on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, with his custody status updated on the agency’s website shortly after 10 a.m.

Squash’s release comes nearly three months ahead of his original projected date of January 25, 2027. His expected release had been adjusted several times throughout the year, moving to December 26, December 11, November 26 and November 11, before being brought forward to October 27.

The Dancehall artiste was sentenced in November 2025 to 27 months in federal prison after pleading guilty to being an alien in possession of a firearm, following his arrest during a traffic stop in Miami in February 2025.

As part of his guilty plea, Squash acknowledged that he could face immigration removal proceedings following his imprisonment.

Having served a reduced portion of his original sentence, the deejay now remains in ICE custody as he awaits the next stage of his immigration proceedings.
