Dancehall producer Shot By Deth of DETHWRLD Records is heating up the summer with his latest juggling, Block Traffic Riddim, released in collaboration with his label venture Cata+.
Blending soulful strings with smooth, seductive rhythms, the riddim is crafted for intimate vibes. The project kicks off with Najeeriii’s “Naughty” from his Luv@2am project, and now adds Armanii with the title track “Block Traffic.” Other featured artists include Roze Don, Iwaata, Valiant, and rising female talent NYMZ, who is managed by Shot By Deth.
“The Armanii release is just the beginning of an amazing moment in my music journey. The music video is already out and doing well, next is just the promotion, expect to see and hear it everywhere,” shared producer Keanu Gordon, known professionally as Shot By Deth. “Block Traffic Riddim is my first official juggling, and I intend to make it a standout body of work in the dancehall space.”
Elaborating on the process behind the title track, Gordon explained how the collaboration with Armanii came together seamlessly. “Armanii saw what I was building, and we started talking about how we could make a splash for the summer. The song was created in less than 2 hours, he joined the riddim at the right time.”
Describing the creative process, Gordon emphasized the balance between his vision and the artists' input: “With most of the artists I work with, the energy and vibrations are symbiotic. It flows naturally. There are very few moments where changes are needed. Once my part and the artist’s part are done, we’ve created art—a perfectly blended idea.”
With strong reactions so far, the talented producer promises this is just the beginning. “Block Traffic Riddim is just the first of my slew of riddims I have to come,” he revealed. “I felt it was the perfect fit for the summer season, and it fits the theme I’ve been sticking to since ‘Tun Di Ada Way’ with Iwaata. I’ve been focused on providing music for the ladies in the space, songs for the dances, and nice melodic dancehall blends for streaming.”
“I’m just providing nice melodic dancehall vibrations for the space—and new songs fi di girl dem whine to!” he added.
