Shenseea cominates Swedish charts
Jamaican dancehall superstar Shenseea has achieved another milestone as her collaborative single "Honey Boy," featuring world-renowned DJ and producer Purple Disco Machine, Swedish singer Benjamin Ingrosso, and Nile Rodgers, has been certified platinum in Sweden by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI).
This achievement underscores the track's success in Sweden, where surpassing 12 million streams qualifies for platinum certification. Released on May 3, the single has amassed over 4 million views on YouTube.
Previously, the single became her first Billboard-charting track of the year in Sweden. The song ranked No. 2 on the Billboard Sweden Songs earlier this year, marking Shenseea’s presence on the Billboard charts every year since 2021.
"Honey Boy" sees the four musical powerhouses unite to create an electrifying summer anthem. Combining the infectious grooves of classic funky disco with modern pop sensibilities, the song transports listeners to a realm of pure euphoria with its rhythm, vocals, and driving energy.
The certification marks another achievement for Shenseea, who continues to expand her influence in international music markets. She is currently on tour with American R&B star Jhené Aiko.
Recently, Shenseea celebrated her second all-Jamaican collaboration to surpass 100 million views on YouTube with "Hit & Run" featuring Masicka, making it the fastest all-Jamaican collab to reach that milestone. This follows "Lighter" featuring Tarrus Riley, which also reached the milestone earlier this year.
