Rising dancehall artist Savour adds a vibrant visual upgrade to his summer anthem “Blackboard,” dropping Friday, July 25.
Playful, bold, and unapologetically Jamaican, “Blackboard” is Savour’s latest infectious dancehall release—blending nostalgic flair with a fresh, modern twist.
Inspired by Beenie Man’s 1996 classic of the same name, the track fuses signature horns with confident lyricism, capturing the cheeky, unapologetic spirit of modern love from a distinctly Jamaican perspective.
Shot in the heart of Ocho Rios, St. Ann—Savour’s hometown and the perfect backdrop for sun-soaked vibes—the video brings the song’s playful narrative to life with colorful scenes, gorgeous island women, and a touch of real-life drama that everyone can relate to.
Directed by Robin Chin of Enhanced Realizm and co-directed by visual newcomer Adrian Kitchin, the production blends humor, summertime energy, and high-octane moments into a visual that feels both fresh and timeless.
“It’s all about fun and truth,” says Savour. “I wanted to give fans something they can laugh with, dance to, and say, ‘Yow, a real thing dat.’ The vibes are up, the energy is real, and this video is me just keeping it 100.”
Paying subtle homage to Beenie Man’s iconic “Blackboard,” Savour even slips in a few vintage dancehall moves—offering a nostalgic nod to those who remember the genre’s golden age, while still pushing his own unique style to the forefront.
With the track already resonating across generations, streaming platforms, and dancehall circles since its release, the visuals are poised to turn that growing buzz into full-blown fire.
