Trivante Stewart is set to sign with a new club
Reggae Boyz striker Trivante Stewart is reportedly on the verge of signing with Israeli Premier League club Maccabi Haifa, according to Serbian outlet Mozzart Sport.
Ivica Tončev, president of Serbian club Radnički Niš, confirmed that an agreement has been reached to sell the 25-year-old Jamaican forward for €1.5 million , the highest transfer fee ever received by the club.
Stewart, who is reportedly on his way to complete a medical, is set to earn €400,000 per year at Maccabi Haifa, a club aiming to qualify for the group stage of the UEFA Conference League this season.
Earlier this summer, Bulgarian side Levski Sofia had shown interest in Stewart, offering €500,000, but Radnički Niš initially held out for €700,000 before ultimately sealing a significantly higher deal with the Israeli outfit.
The Spanish Town-born striker netted 16 goals in 38 appearances across all competitions last season for Radnički Niš. A former player for Molynes United and Mount Pleasant, Stewart won the Jamaica Premier League title in 2023 before joining Italy’s Serie B side Salernitana. He later went on loan to Serbian SuperLiga club Javor, before being permanently signed by Radnički Niš for €80,000.
