Michail Antonio findsnew chapter in Qatar
Reggae Boyz striker Michail Antonio has officially secured a new club, signing with Qatar Stars League side Al-Sailiya as he begins the next chapter of his career.
The former West Ham forward admitted he had to “swallow his ego” in order to find the right opportunity following a challenging period both on and off the pitch.
Antonio has not featured in club football since being involved in a serious car accident in December 2024, which left him with multiple leg fractures and required a three-week stay in hospital. The setback sidelined him for the remainder of the season.
At the end of the campaign, West Ham released the 35-year-old, bringing an end to a memorable spell in east London. Antonio departs as one of the club’s modern-era greats, scoring 83 goals and providing assists across 323 appearances for the Hammers.
