Reggae superstar Protoje has reached a major milestone, surpassing 500 million total views on YouTube, a testament to his global influence and consistency throughout his career.

Leading the numbers is his colossal collaboration “Who Knows” featuring Chronixx, which has amassed over 235 million views since its 2014 release. The timeless hit, featured on his third studio album Ancient Future from 2015, also racked up over 100 million streams on Spotify earlier this year, reaffirming its enduring global appeal.

The two-time Grammy-nominated artist continues to display a powerful digital presence with several other million-view singles. His 2020 collaboration “Switch It Up” featuring Koffee from In Search of Lost Time has accumulated over 20 million views, including 17 million on the official video, while “Like Royalty” featuring Popcaan from the same album has surpassed 14 million and “Not Another Word” featuring Lila Iké and Agent Sasco has reached 7.4 million views.

“Big 45,” released earlier this year in celebration of sound system culture, has already surpassed 4.3 million views, adding another successful chapter to Protoje’s ever-growing catalogue of releases.

The total could be even higher when factoring in his crossover hit “Rasta Love” featuring Ky-Mani Marley from his debut album The Seven Year Itch, which has garnered over 174 million views on YouTube through producer Don Corleon’s channel. Corleon also uploaded Protoje’s “Who Dem a Program” from the same album, now standing at 8.2 million views.

With eight studio albums and a career spanning over 20 years, Protoje’s impact on reggae continues to grow - not only as a performer but also as a producer and curator of his own exclusive festival, Lost In Time, which is expected to make its return next year following hints from the artist earlier this year. His influence remains a driving force in modern reggae, keeping the culture alive and in motion.
