Dancehall artiste Plazmic

Dancehall newcomer Plazmic is continuing to carve out his place in Jamaica's music scene as one of the country's promising new talents.

Hailing from Brown's Town, St. Ann, the rising artiste has steadily built his profile across the island's north coast, particularly in Montego Bay, where he has been developing his craft and gaining momentum with a string of releases.

Blending dancehall, trap dancehall, and Caribbean urban influences, Plazmic's music is defined by raw street energy, melodic flows, and authentic storytelling.

Speaking about his latest release, "Well Off," the artiste said the song is rooted in perseverance and ambition. “‘Well Off’ is about elevation. It's for anyone who's putting in the work and staying focused on becoming successful despite where they started. It touches on determination. I have a line in the song, ‘We've been doing this for so long.’ The message is to believe in yourself, stay consistent, and never let your circumstances define your future.”

Although originally from St. Ann, Plazmic credits Montego Bay for playing a major role in his musical journey.

“Montego Bay is my place same way. Mobay played a huge role in shaping me. The culture, the energy, and seeing artistes from the city make it gave me confidence that it was possible. It pushed me to develop my own sound while staying true to where I'm from. Big up 6ix.”

Working with Squash has been a great experience. Watching his work ethic and how serious he is about the music taught me the importance of consistency, confidence, and always giving your best in the studio. Every session is an opportunity to learn and grow.”

Known for tracks including “Immortal,” “Big Cheque,“Pressa” featuring Squash, and “Express,” Plazmic has steadily built momentum as one of the emerging talents in Jamaica's new wave of dancehall.

Reflecting on his collaboration with Squash, Plazmic said the experience has been instrumental in his growth as an artiste.

“Working with Squash has been a great experience. Watching his work ethic and how serious he is about the music taught me the importance of consistency, confidence, and always giving your best in the studio. Every session is an opportunity to learn and grow.”

“Fans can expect bigger collaborations”

Looking ahead, the rising entertainer says his focus remains firmly on growth while staying true to himself. “I focus on making music that's authentic to me while always trying to evolve my sound. I want people to connect with the music, whether it's street records or songs with a deeper message. Fans can expect more releases, more visuals, and bigger collaborations as I continue building my brand globally.”

With “Well Off,” Plazmic delivers another energetic offering while staying true to the motto that defines his artistry: “Real stories. Real energy. Real dancehall.”
