Miami-based dancehall artiste Popeye Caution is celebrating the success of his latest single, "Gorgeous," which debuted at #11 and climbed to #10 on the U.S. iTunes Reggae Chart within 24 hours of its release. The track also reached an impressive #2 on the iTunes Reggae Chart in Belgium.
Produced by Belgian production collective Team DAMP, ‘Gorgeous’ is a vibrant, feel-good anthem that celebrates women, beauty, and self-confidence. Since its release, the single has sparked a surge of online activity, particularly on TikTok, where fans are embracing the track with empowering dance challenges and lifestyle content. “I’m honestly surprised and elated,” shared Popeye Caution. “To see ‘Gorgeous’ climb the iTunes charts this quickly is a blessing. I make feel-good music, especially for the ladies, because I want them to feel empowered, celebrated, and uplifted. The feedback since this morning has been tremendous”.
The momentum has even caught the attention of renowned American producer Scott Storch, who recently reached out to Popeye Caution about working together.
Though based in Miami, Popeye Caution continues to stay deeply connected to his Jamaican roots. He recently returned to the island for two major performances in Kingston—Ding Dong’s album launch, where he delivered a high-energy set that earned media praise, and Aidonia’s birthday party, where he once again shared the stage with Ding Dong. “Jamaica is my home away from home,” he added. “No matter where I am in the world, I’m always coming back to perform and connect with my Jamaican fans. The energy here is unmatched, and I’ll forever represent the culture.”
Riding the momentum of his recent successes, Popeye Caution continues to make waves in dancehall. His collaboration "WYFT (Weh Yuh Find This)" with Ding Dong and Busta Rhymes saw strong iTunes performance, while "Moody", produced by Grammy-nominated Mitch Mula, is gaining international buzz. With "Gorgeous" now charting, Popeye Caution solidifies his status as a rising force in the genre
