Patra, Shyne, And More to Be Honored at 2026 Caribbean Music Awards

Patra will be celebrated for her groundbreaking career and global influence, alongside Shyne, Calypso Rose and Alan Cavé at the fourth annual Caribbean Music Awards in Trinidad & Tobago

Patra to receive Lifetime Achievement Honor

The Caribbean Music Awards announces this year's special honorees for its fourth annual ceremony, set for Saturday, September 19, at the National Academy for the Performing Arts (NAPA) in Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago.

Jamaican dancehall icon Patra will receive the Lifetime Achievement Honor, recognizing her groundbreaking career and influence on dancehall and reggae. The “Romantic Call” singer became an international star during the 1990s, with her debut album Queen of the Pack becoming the first album by a Jamaican female artiste to top Billboard’s Reggae Albums chart.

Belizean rapper, humanitarian and former government official Shyne will receive the Global Ambassador Honor for his contributions to music, public service and Caribbean culture. Tobago-born legend Calypso Rose will be presented with the Elite Calypso Honor for her six-decade career and pioneering achievements, while Haitian-American singer Alan Cavé, widely known as the “King of Kompa Love,” will receive the Elite Konpa Honor.

Presented by Tourism Trinidad Limited, the Caribbean Music Awards will form part of the inaugural Elite Weekend Experience, a three-day celebration running September 18–20 and bringing together artistes, fans and industry figures from across the Caribbean and diaspora.
