“Go Down Deh” becomes first Jamaican Female-Led song to hit 400 million YouTube vViews
More than five years after its release, Spice’s career-defining hit “Go Down Deh,” featuring Shaggy and Sean Paul, has surpassed 400 million views on YouTube.
Released on April 30, 2021, the star-studded collaboration becomes the first song led by a Jamaican female artiste to reach the 400-million-view milestone on the platform. The video had crossed 300 million views in July 2025, adding another 100 million views in just over a year.
The latest achievement comes just months after “Go Down Deh” also surpassed 400 million streams on Spotify in June, highlighting the record’s continued global popularity five years after its release. The track has also remained a major force across streaming platforms, accumulating more than 474 million streams on Spotify to date.
Its international success has also translated into certifications. “Go Down Deh” was certified Silver by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) in January 2026 after surpassing 200,000 equivalent units in the UK, while the track has also earned Platinum certification in Canada and Gold certification in New Zealand.
Produced by Costi Ionita, the song marked the first collaboration between the Queen of Dancehall and Jamaican veterans Shaggy and Sean Paul.
The track was featured on Spice’s long-awaited debut album, 10, released on her birthday, August 6, 2021. The project later earned a Grammy nomination for Best Reggae Album, marking another major moment in Spice’s career.
