Nicki Minaj, Droptop & Skeng Continue Relief Efforts in Western Jamaica

Producer Droptop continues his joint efforts with Nicki Minaj’s Barbz Foundation and Skeng’s team to deliver relief supplies to western Jamaica - even sharing how singing gospel along the journey helped keep spirits high.

Nicki Minaj, Skeng and DropTop bring supplies to West Jamaica

Trinidadian-American rapstress Nicki Minaj, through her Barbz Foundation and on-the-ground representative along with dancehall producer Droptop via his Droptop Foundation, and dancehall star Skeng with his Ratty Gang camp, continue to spearhead relief efforts along Jamaica’s hurricane-ravaged western coastline.

In the days prior, the team prepared supplies including water, food, clothing, generators, baby pampers, and Clarke's, among other supplies.

More than 40 team members traveled west by bus to deliver the aid, facing several challenges on the road, including a flat tire and low tire pressure.

“The bus couldn’t handle the climb up the mountains,” shared producer and event promoter Rayon Wong. “Drop Top was driving, and everyone started singing gospel songs and speaking in tongues - then we pushed the bus just like that,” he recalled with a laugh.

“We went up into the mountains of Left Hall to find 300 families who hadn’t received any relief in 13 days,” Wong added. “Thanks to Nicki Minaj, Droptop, and Skeng.”

“It’s one Jamaica - we put our heart into this,” said Droptop, whose given name is Rowan Melhado. “Thanks to Nicki for her support. We’re rebuilding homes, restoring hope, and reminding every heart that we are stronger together.”

Drop Top and the other parties promise to continue supporting West Jamaica with additional supplies in the coming weeks.

The close connection between Nicki Minaj and Skeng began with the “Likkle Miss” remix, which helped propel him into the mainstream. Produced by Droptop, the collaboration forged a bond that remains strong today, with Minaj continuing to show support for the Ratty Gang boss.
