Mitsubishi Motors has raised the standarts for SUVs in Jamaica with the debut of the all-new Destinator, unveiled on February 25, 2026, at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel.

Powered by a 1.5L turbo engine and built around the theme “Where to Next?”, the Destinator blends performance, technology, comfort, and style - transitioning seamlessly from city drives to weekend escapes and long-distance journeys.

Guests at the launch explored standout features including a 12.3-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a premium Yamaha sound system, panoramic sunroof, three-zone air-conditioning, wireless charging, and multi-colour ambient lighting. With 18-inch alloy wheels, a Drive Mode Selector, and practical touches like foldable rear tables and an integrated cooler, the SUV delivers both versatility and refinement.

“The introduction of the Destinator marks an important milestone for Mitsubishi in Jamaica and for Stewart’s Automotive Group as its authorised distributor,” said Duncan Stewart, Managing Director, Stewart’s Automotive Group, Mitsubishi’s local distributor. “The Destinator embodies the innovation, performance, and quality today’s drivers expect, and we are proud to bring a vehicle of this calibre to the Jamaican market. It reinforces our role in delivering globally engineered products supported by trusted local expertise.”

Bold in stance and modern in design, the Destinator blends sophistication with everyday practicality. Its advanced driver-assistance suite includes Forward Collision Mitigation, Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Warning, Lane Keep Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, a 360-degree camera system, parking sensors, and a hands-free powered tailgate.

“Road safety remains a serious issue in Jamaica, with thousands of accidents and hundreds of fatalities recorded annually,” said Franz Lawrence, Brand Sales Manager, Mitsubishi Jamaica. “While no technology can replace responsible driving, advanced driver-assistance systems can play a meaningful role in reducing risk. The Destinator’s driver-assistance systems are designed to provide earlier warnings, greater visibility, and enhanced support in critical moments. By integrating features that help drivers avoid collisions, maintain lane discipline, and detect surrounding vehicles, we are contributing to a safer driving environment and reinforcing Mitsubishi’s commitment to protecting lives on our roads.”

Supported by partners including Allied Insurance Brokers, Scotiabank, Stewart Finance, and Rubis, the launch reflected the collaborative ecosystem behind the Mitsubishi ownership experience in Jamaica.
