Olympic silver medalist Kishane Thompson stormed the National Stadium with a blistering 9.75 seconds to win the men’s 100m final at the Jamaican Olympic Trials, setting a new personal best and a world-leading time for 2025.

With this result, he became the sixth-fastest man in history, surpassing his previous best of 9.77s and matching the fastest time ever run at the National Stadium, set by Yohan Blake in 2012.

Oblique Seville secured second place with 9.83s, while Ackeem Blake finished third in 9.88s, rounding out an electrifying final.

In the women’s 100m final, Tina Clayton soared to a new personal best of 10.81s, edging out Shericka Jackson (10.88s) and sprint legend Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce (10.91s), who was making her final appearance at the Jamaican National Championships.

Tina’s twin sister, Tia Clayton, impressed in the semi-finals with a 10.86s run but unfortunately pulled up in the final and did not finish due to injury.

“I felt your love, I felt your support, and I'm grateful for it,” said Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, the two-time Olympic gold medalist, as she reflected on her farewell season.

Both Kishane Thompson and Tina Clayton have secured their spots for the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo this September.
