Keznamdi takes home 2026 Reggae Grammy Award
Reggae singer Keznamdi has won the 2026 Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album for his sophomore album, BLXXD & FYAH, marking his first win in the prestigious category.
Presented by Dee Dee Bridgewater, Keznamdi received the honour during the Grammy Awards Premiere Ceremony at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday, February 2—a major milestone in his steadily rising global career.
BLXXD & FYAH came ahead of fellow nominees, including Treasure Self Love by Lila Iké, Heart & Soul by Vybz Kartel, No Place Like Home by Jesse Royal, and From Within by Mortimer.
Released in August via his independent imprint, Keznamdi Music Group, the album showcases a powerful blend of roots reggae, Rastafarian themes, and modern influences, reinforcing Keznamdi’s growing presence on the global reggae stage.
The 13-track project blends a wide range of sounds from roots and contemporary reggae to elements of dancehall, Afrobeats, R&B, and hip-hop continuing Keznamdi’s exploration of the evolving landscape of modern reggae while highlighting his signature flair and versatility.
The album features notable collaborations, including “Bun Di Ganja” with Mavado and Marlon Asher, the opening track “I Am” with his sister Kelissa, and the uplifting “Forever Grateful” featuring dancehall star Masicka—an anthem celebrating gratitude for life, accomplishments, and lessons learned through hardship. Other standout tracks include “Identity Crisis” and “Serious Times,” which reflect themes of identity, resilience, and social realities.
The Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album - recognizing excellence across roots reggae, dancehall, and ska, received 73 eligible entries this year. To qualify, albums must contain more than 75% newly recorded reggae material.
Recent winners of the category include Bob Marley: One Love - Music Inspired by the Film in 2025, Colors of Royal by Julian Marley and Antaeus (2024), and The Kalling by Kabaka Pyramid (2023).
