Dancehall recording artiste Jamal “Dunce Man” is set to headline the fifth staging of UPDATE - Part 5, the birthday celebration organized by Alliance Blacks.
Armed with the buzz surrounding his latest singles “Money Fragrance” and “Faada,” which has amassed over 5.7 million views to date, Jamal is expected to deliver a high-energy performance that reflects his evolving sound and strong connection with dancehall audiences. Both tracks have been gaining traction across platforms, building steady momentum.
The Montego Bay-native deejay has built a solid reputation within the dancehall space, with popular tracks including “Girls Are Drugs” and standout hits “Time” and “Ballandor,” among others.
Known for his distinctive style and commanding stage presence, his addition to the lineup further elevates the event’s entertainment value.
Alliance Blacks, promoter of UPDATE, shared: “UPDATE, now in its fifth staging in Jamaica, is only getting bigger and bigger. UPDATE - Part 5 continues to expand beyond its origins as a birthday celebration, now firmly positioned as a cultural dancehall experience. Now in its fifth staging locally, the event has also expanded internationally, with two stagings in New York and one in Canada, and remains fully endorsed by the dancehall community.
The event is scheduled for Wednesday, April 8, at Gee Wee Car Park, 1A Caledonia Avenue, Kingston 5, where revelers can enjoy sets from JR Chromatic, Boom Boom, Heavy Metal Sound (Canada), and DJ Owlie and also a live perfromance by upcoming artiste Chappz.
