Jordan Kellier hopes to host the next window at home and calls for sponsors
Jamaica’s international forward Jordan Kellier remains full of high energy after the Reggae Boyz secured back-to-back wins over Puerto Rico in the 2027 FIBA World Cup Americas Qualifiers.
The Kingston-born talent, who launched his pro career this season with Spanish third-division club Deportiva Leonesa, is already known for his toughness and defensive impact. His journey has taken him through Redemption Christian Academy, Williston State, Utah, and Siena, shaping a player built on grit, discipline, and development. Now, Kellier is ready to bring that mentality to the international stage.

“Those two wins in Puerto Rico are bigger than just basketball.”
“Those two wins in Puerto Rico are bigger than just basketball. It gives the youths hope, understanding that you can not only make it through football and track, but that other sports can also improve your life while giving you a free education,” he told Kaboom Magazine in an exclusive conversation.
Kellier praised the chemistry in the national squad so far. “Most fun I’ve had with a team my whole life. And we’ve only been together for one week, so I know it will only get better from here. No egos - every man wants to see every man shine.”
Still just in his first official pro year, the 6'5" forward believes he can rise to Spain’s top league. “Gimme just 2–3 years, and mi deh deh,” he said, jokingly but with a clear sense of ambition.
As Jamaica looks ahead to the next qualifying window in February, Kellier emphasized the need for investment. “We just need sponsors to now believe in the work that we are doing, so we can take it to another level. Looking forward to February - hopefully we can acquire the support we need to host Bahamas and Canada in Jamaica, because that would do wonders for our country.”
