Jahmiel and Cologne-based producer DJ Densen strengthen their Jamaica connection with a faith-driven single recorded during his 2025 visit to Kingston

Jahmiel voices resilience on DJ Densen’s “Provider”

Cologne-based producer DJ Densen deepens his ties to Jamaica with the release of “Provider,” a soulful collaboration featuring dancehall recording artiste Jahmiel.

The track was recorded during Densen’s visit to Kingston in early 2025, following years of mutual respect between the two. Jahmiel ultimately selected the riddim from a carefully curated batch of Densen’s instrument-driven compositions, drawn to its emotional weight and musical richness.

Originally crafted during the depths of a German winter, Densen built the riddim around live guitars, warm melodies and textured drums, aiming to create an uplifting soundscape. Once brought to Jamaica, the production evolved into a stirring anthem of perseverance and purpose.

“Working with Jahmiel was a long-term goal for me,” Densen explains. “I’ve rated his music for years. Recording in Kingston and seeing how he connected with the riddim brought everything full circle.”

“This is a nice beat with soul, which automatically led me to sing from the heart,” Jahmiel shared. “Thinking about my past and the tribulations I’ve overcome, the concept for ‘Provider’ came to life.”

At its core, “Provider” delivers a message of faith and resilience, themes long embedded in Jahmiel’s catalogue, while reinforcing Densen’s commitment to authentic, instrument-rich dancehall and reggae production.

“We see ourselves as ambassadors for Caribbean music in Europe. Jamaica is the source, and collaborating here gives the music its real energy.”

For Densen, whose previous credits include Romain Virgo’s song “Good Woman,” the single marks another milestone in his ongoing mission to bridge European studios with Jamaica’s creative heartbeat.

“The approach to my productions has always been international,” he says. “We see ourselves as ambassadors for Caribbean music in Europe. Jamaica is the source, and collaborating here gives the music its real energy.”

Released through a sub-label of the legendary Silly Walks Discotheque,

highlights the growing creative exchange between Germany and Jamaica, further positioning DJ Densen as an increasingly active force within the island’s evolving music landscape.
