Jamaican striker Javon East continues his impressive form since joining Israeli Premier League side Hapoel Haifa in January.

The former top scorer in the Costa Rican league has netted six goals in 13 appearances, including five in Israel’s championship round, helping his team secure a spot in the league’s top tier and activating an option to extend his contract for another season.

Former two-time Jamaica Premier League champion Javon East returns to the Reggae Boyz squad for the Afro-Caribbean tournament, the Unity Cup, in England, where they will face Trinidad and Tobago’s Soca Warriors on May 27.

East now aims to impress head coach Steve McClaren and secure a place in the squad for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, including upcoming matches against Guatemala on June 10 and 16. His last appearance for Jamaica came against Costa Rica during the 2022 qualifying campaign.

East recently parted ways with Costa Rican giants Deportivo Saprissa after two and a half successful years. He scored 54 goals in 144 matches and helped the club win multiple domestic titles.
