After making history as the first dancehall artist to sell out the Barclays Center in Brooklyn with three consecutive shows, each drawing over 18,500 fans, dancehall hitmaker Vybz Kartel is set to conquer another milestone. This Thursday (September 4) and Friday (September 5), the Worl’ Boss will take over London’s iconic O2 Arena.
The O2, one of the world’s most prestigious venues, to announce both shows as sold out, with crowds of over 19,000 expected each night. Kartel becomes the first dancehall artist ever to headline and sell out the venue, marking another groundbreaking achievement for the genre.
As part of his debut UK arena tour, the dancehall icon will perform at three of the country’s five largest indoor venues. On September 10, he headlines Co-op Live in Manchester, the UK’s biggest indoor arena with a capacity of 23,500. Then, on September 19, he will take the stage at BP Pulse LIVE in Birmingham, the fifth-largest venue at 15,600, making history as the first dancehall artist to headline the arena.
His upcoming London shows follow his massive Wireless Festival set earlier this year, where he performed for over 50,000 attendees and marked 20 years in music.
