Dutty Rock Productions, the label helmed by Sean Paul alongside his long-time collaborators Jigzagula, News, CopperShaun, Suku Ward and Chi Ching Ching , the first official artiste signed to the camp, unveils its latest juggling project, the Moroccan Gold Riddim. This new release blends Middle Eastern cadences with the pulse of authentic dancehall energy.

Opening with smoky, cinematic tension, the Moroccan Gold Riddim immediately captivates with its hypnotic, desert-inspired textures, while its bass-driven foundation grounds it in authentic riddim culture, creating a globally rooted soundscape that delivers the ultimate dancehall twist.

“The sample we used has a Moroccan, Middle Eastern feel – that’s what inspired the name. Persons may know moroccan gold as a high-quality oil, precious gold jewellery and even the rare, pure indica strain that’s native to the regions of Morocco. We wanted the riddim to carry the same energy, something rich, different, and top-tier in quality,” explained News, Label Manager and one of the creative minds behind the project.

While the soundscape taps into exotic melodies, make no mistake – Moroccan Gold Riddim remains rooted in the core of Jamaican dancehall. “Anything Dutty Rock does, we try to keep it dancehall-oriented,” News emphasised. “This riddim just adds a new texture to that. We have tonnes of riddims, but between myself, Suku, SP, Jigzag, and CopperShaun, we chose this one to bat for next and each of us added elements to the production, from the mixing to the mastering.”

The Moroccan Gold Riddim project brings together a mix of veteran and emerging talent, featuring the likes of Sean Paul, Spice, Chi Ching Ching, and his protégé Castral, alongside Looga Man, Iwaata, Goody Plum, and the camp’s newest addition, Bayka. The lineup also introduces XO Man, a towering 7-foot-tall newcomer with a distinct voice that adds a fresh edge to the collection.

“Spice inspired us to bring more females on board, so we welcomed Goody Plum, who is a feisty addition. We also had Pamputtae, but unfortunately, her vocals came in a bit too late,” shared News. “We also had Pamputtae in mind, but unfortunately, her vocals arrived a bit too late.”

The Moroccan Gold Riddim includes tracks lke Sean Paul’s “Up Inna Di Air”, a guaranteed crowd-pleaser; Spice’s “Pop Pill, laced with her signature Queen of the Dancehall energy; and Chi Ching Ching’s playful Sprinkle, which debuts alongside a music video as well as Bayka's “Back It Up Slow”.

“Spice is spitting straight lyrics — a real walk-out track for the ladies,” said News. “Goody Plum’s tune will have the women stepping out in front of the video light. Every track brings its own flavour.”

The 9-track project officially dropped on Friday, July 18, via OneRPM, with more additions potentially on the way, including the track from Pamputtae. “We’re preserving that classic riddim juggling tradition, while updating the sound for today’s audience,” News added.
