Buju Banton Returns to Billboard Reggae Albums as Too Too Bad Debuts at No. 8

The Grammy-winning reggae and dancehall legend earns his 13th career entry on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart with his latest studio album, marking his first appearance since 2020

Grammy-winning reggae and dancehall icon Buju Banton has returned to the Billboard Reggae Albums chart, as his 13th studio album, Too Too Bad, debuts at No. 8 on the chart dated August 1.

Banton's previous Billboard Reggae Albums entry came with Upside Down 2020, which debuted and peaked at No. 2 in July 2020. His most recent project before Too Too Bad, Born for Greatness, did not chart.

With Too Too Bad, Buju extends his impressive Billboard Reggae Albums legacy to 13 chart entries. His highest-charting release remains Inna Heights, which reached No. 1. Classic albums 'Til Shiloh from 1995, Unchained Spirit, Rasta Got Soul (2010), and Before the Dawn all peaked at No. 2, while Friends for Life reached No. 3. Voice of Jamaica, Ultimate Collection and Too Bad each climbed to No. 6, Toppa Di Top & Dirty Rhythms peaked at No. 7, and The Best of Buju Banton reached No. 8.

Released via VP Records and Gargamel Music, the 13-track project finds the Jamaican legend embracing the authentic dancehall sound that first propelled him to international acclaim. Blending his unmistakable deejay style with modern production, Too Too Bad revisits several of the genre's most iconic riddims, including Real Rock, Diseases, and Buy Out, while delivering a fresh take for today's audience.
