Celebrating Caribbean Creators, Founders, and Entrepreneurs Making a Powerful Impact
As November marks National Entrepreneurship Month, on November 7th, Carib Biz Network will host the 2024 Island Icon Honors in Brooklyn, NY, celebrating the achievements of remarkable individuals who have made significant contributions to the Caribbean diaspora.
Among the honorees are outstanding Jamaican nominees like Allison Dunn of Hibiscus Brew, as well as brands like Lovers Rock Sea Moss.
The event will feature categories such as the Music & Culture Advocate Award, with nominees including the Caribbean Music Awards, which successfully held its annual event for the second consecutive year and recently announced its third event for next August. Nominees also include No Long Talk, known for organizing New York’s vibrant cultural events, and Caribstar Radio.
Additional categories include Culinary Innovator of the Year, Health & Wellness Ambassador of the Year, Digital Creator Excellence Award—featuring Jamaican nominee Helena Faustin—Fashion + Design Ambassador of the Year, and Cultural Preservationist + Storyteller of the Year, which highlights Sarita Nauth, a pioneering Indo-Caribbean producer.
All nominees embody excellence in their respective fields, showcasing the diversity and vibrancy of the Caribbean entrepreneurial spirit, while continuing to uplift and inspire the Caribbean community in New York and beyond.
