KingPin of King Addies dominated the clash all the way

Once again, America’s most legendary sound King Addies reigns supreme over a legendary Jamaican sound, killing FireLinks in Vengeance Soundclash held in Queens, NY on August 15, 2025.

KingPin of King Addies dominated in all rounds played, by a landslide. By the end of Firelinks’ 2nd round, disappointed patrons began trickling out of the venue, as Fire Links overwhelmingly underperformed. By the beginning of the 3rd round, the crowd called for a lock off and shortly after the venue owner ended the event, Firelinks publicly admitted to his defeat before exiting the stage.

Billed as an exciting revenge clash, this redemption saga stems from an epic 90’s era rivalry during Matterhorn’s iconic time as a game changing selector on King Addies, while Fire Links was at the helm of Clarendon’s legendary Bodyguard Sound. In that era, King Addies and Bodyguard clashed several times all over the world, with both sounds winning and losing to one another from one bout to the next. However, in the 1997 square off at Club Ligenea (Queens, NY), Bodyguard’s Firelinks got the win as the dance ended in an inter-team brawl between one of the greatest selector emcee duos in the history of international sound system culture, Babyface & Matterhorn (King Addies). After that clash, Matterhorn took on the world as a solo selector, and eventually Firelinks did the same, which led to some insanely historic Fully Loaded dances and several more clashes that are forever etched in history.

"Right before the club owner locked off the clash I asked the crowd if they want to hear Links play again, and if he should lock off, and the entire crowd screamed LOCK OFF"

In Vengeance Clash, King Addies’ generation now selectors set out to kill FireLinks with a new legend, KingPin, at the helm. A bonafide test fully aced by Addies 4th generation selectors, it was also Firelinks first one versus one clash with King Addies since that fateful night at Club Ligenea.

“Right before the club owner locked off the clash I asked the crowd if they want to hear Links play again, and if he should lock off, and the entire crowd screamed LOCK OFF”, says King Pin.

However, on London’s War Report media platform Firelinks expressed the event ended prematurely by the venue owner.

The renewed rivalry between King Addies and FireLinks will unfold again on November 22, 2025 on neutral ground in Washington, DC, at which Firelinks aims to redeem himself.

In April 2024, King Addies killed St. Ann’s champion sound, Bass Odyssey, in Amazura. Their deadly history and rivarly with Jamaican sounds is both cinematic and debated in social circles around the world.
