Blake, Gayle, and Alfred Dominate Brussels Diamond League Finals with Their Wins

Jamaican youngster Ackeem Blake wins the 100m title, while Olympic champion Julien Alfred claims the women's 100m title. Tajay Gayle emerges as the long jump champion

Jamaican sprinter Ackeem Blake wins the 100m title at the Diamond League final meeting in Brussels on Friday, September 13.


The 22-year-old clocked an impressive 9.93s, edging out Americans Christian Coleman (10.00s) and Fred Kerley (10.01s) for the win. Coleman narrowly secured second place, just ahead of former world champion Kerley. Emmanuel Eseme of Cameroon finished fourth in 10.09, with Akani Simbine placing fifth.



Olympic champion Julien Alfred of Saint Lucia wins the Diamond League 100m title with a time of 10.88s, edging out Britain's Dina Asher-Smith, who clocked 10.92s. Veteran sprinter Marie-Josée Ta Lou finished third in 11.05s, while Sha'Carri Richardson disappointed with an eighth-place finish in 11.23s.



Tajay Gayle wins the Diamond League men's Long Jump competition with a season's best (SB) of 8.28m (0.4), securing victory ahead of Switzerland's Simon Ehammer, who posted an 8.16m jump in the final round. Olympic Champion Miltiadis Tentoglou from Greece, finished 3rd with 8.15m.


World record holder and Olympic champion in the 400m hurdles, Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone of the U.S, dominated the women's 400m Invitational at the Brussels Diamond League, clocking an impressive 49.11s. Jamaica's Stacey Ann Williams secured second place with a time of 50.53s, while fellow Jamaican Stephanie Ann McPherson finished fourth in 51.24s.
